USB SuperSpeed 3.0 to SATA Controller with Encryption

The OXU3101 is the latest in external storage controllers. Bridging between USB 3.0 interfaces to a single hard disk drive, the OXU3101 supports a number of power saving modes, making it suitable for use in secure bus-powered applications. Delivering industry leading performance the OXU3101 integrates a USB 3.0 device, which is backward compatible with USB 2.0, and a SATA II host controller and enables designers to create products with a minimal number of external components and a low cost BOM.

The OXU3101 includes a flexible cipher engine providing real-time, on-the-fly encryption / decryption of the data to the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), enabling OEMs to deploy full disk encryption solutions and provide end users with the peace-of-mind that their private content is safe and secure in the event of theft or loss. The OXU3101 is complemented by robust authentication solutions, including software password and a customizable host application.

The OXU3101 is provided with robust application firmware, thereby shortening development cycles, and PLX offers a comprehensive support package including evaluation boards, reference designs and software development kit.
